Japanese Reading Group: September 2025

In September, we will read a blog post from Note.com titled 北海道は秋の気配 (Signs of Autumn in Hokkaido). Click here for the reading.

This is a short blog post with lots of photos, so you should be able to get through it quickly. We encourage you to also browse other posts on the site and bring a sentence you enjoyed to share with the group! It'll be Japanese language show and tell. You can browse randomly from the home page, but it might be good to search for keywords that you're interested in to find material. We look forward to seeing what else you've read!

See times listed below or find your time zone.

You can post questions and receive the reading link early each month in the USJETAA Japanese Reading Group Facebook Group.

About the USJETAA Japanese Reading Group

The goal of the USJETAA Japanese Reading Group is to help advanced, beginner and intermediate level learners improve their reading skills. Each month we discuss a short reading from Aozora Bunko, a repository of public domain literature. Participants should attempt to do the reading on their own and bring questions to the group.

We gather online and read the assignment sentence by sentence to understand how the Japanese is working. Registration is free, but we always appreciate donations to support these types of programs.
