Aspiring JETs

Resources to Help You Prepare for JET

Visit the official JET Program website for US citizens to learn about the application process, recruiting events, read FAQs, and learn more about the JET Program itself.

JETPrep is one of our proud corporate sponsors, was created by JET alum Marti Deyo (Aomori, 2004-2009). This mentor-supported program is designed to help future JET participants and those exploring the path toward Japan, feel confident, grounded, and ready for what comes next.

View past presentations and discussions to gain valuable insights about what it’s really like to live in Japan, be on the JET Program and how to prepare yourself for the experience.

JET Info Sessions

Office Hours

Office Hours for 2025 have concluded.
We host these annually in the weeks leading up to the JET application deadline.

*Check back or follow us on social media for updates. We’re on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

USJETAA and JETAA USA are co-hosting four free, drop-in virtual Office Hours for aspiring JETs in October. These sessions provide the opportunity to chat with JET alumni to hear their perspectives and experiences, and ask questions about the JET experience, the application process and timeline and get personalized guidance. We also typically have a JET Program Coordinator join us to answer technical questions about the application and departure process.

If you are a JET alum and would like to serve as a senpai mentor at our Office Hours,
please
share your interest by filling out this form.

JET Program Coordinators and a panel of alumni share their experiences and answer your questions about the JET Program. Whether you're actively considering applying or just exploring your options, this 90-minute session is designed to provide you with the personal insight and practical guidance to take the next step.

*All registrants will receive a link to the recorded session.

The next info session will take place in June of 2026.
