Congratulations to JET Alum Laurel Lukaszewski

Congratulations to Laurel Lukaszewski (ALT, Minamitane-cho, Kagoshima 1990-1992) for being internationally recognized and included in the international Homo Faber Guide, developed by the Geneva, Switzerland-based Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship. The Guide provides profiles of craft artisans worldwide. This May just over 200 Americans were invited to be part of this project.

Along with her dedication to ceramics, Laurel has been an engaged leader in our JETAA community and the greater US-Japan community. Laurel offers her time to mentor future artists through our JET2JET Career Chat program, and has been recognized by the Japanese government for her work. You can view Laurel's profile in the Homo Faber Guide or see more of her work through Laurel’s website. If you’re in the DC metro area and want to see some of her incredible pieces in person, check out where she’ll be showing her art next through her upcoming events webpage. If you’re ready to get something on your calendar, Laurel’s studio will be open as part of the American Craft Council’s National Craft Open Studios Weekend, July 18 & 19, from noon-5 pm. It’s free and open to the public. All welcome! For details, visit laurellukaszewski.com.

おめでとうございます Laurel!
